The Melissa High School Competitive Cheerleading Team competed at the UIL Spirit State Championships at the Fort Worth Convention Center on Jan. 5-6, 2024. The MHS Cheerleading Team faced off against the top teams in Texas 5A, earning an outstanding 6th place finish out of 64 teams.
The UIL Spirit State Championships judged cheerleading teams on their Band Chant, Fight Song, and Crowd Leading skills.
During the preliminary round of the championships on Thursday, Jan. 5, the MHS Cheerleading Team advanced to the finals, securing a spot among the top 20 teams in their division. The finals round of the UIL Spirit State Championships took place on Friday, January 6, where they achieved their top 6 finish. Congratulations, Cardinal Cheer!
