The Melissa High School Theatre will be performing Bullets Over Broadway on January 25-27, 2024 at the Melissa Arts Center. Performances on Jan. 25 and 26 will begin at 7 p.m. There will be two performances on Saturday, Jan. 27 that will start at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
This production will be MHS Theatre’s first musical with a live band accompaniment. The MHS Jazz Band will be serving as the musical’s orchestra to bring the spirit of 1920s jazz to life.
Bullets Over Broadway The Musical is recommended for ages 12 and up. Inspired by the 1994 film by Woody Allen and Douglas McGrath, the play is described as a comedic tale of playwright David Shayne compromising artistic integrity for a mobster-backed producer's talentless girlfriend in 1920s Broadway. With a mix of vibrant characters, iconic melodies, and a nod to the Golden Age of Broadway, it delivers an unforgettable and entertaining production.
