Congratulations to the four Melissa High School Art art students who were awarded honors at the Region-at-Large South Art Show hosted by The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. All four Cardinals received an Honorable Mention Award, and one student also received a Silver Key Award.
Since 1923, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards have been a vital outlet for creative teenagers nationwide. Recognizing their talents, the organization celebrates young artists and writers with regional and national awards, exhibitions, publications, and scholarships.
During the Regional Art Show, all student art entries and considered regionally for Gold key, Silver Key, and honorable mention awards. Students are presented the awards along with celebration ceremonies and exhibitions in each region.
The MHS Art students will be showcasing their art at the Congressional Art Show in McKinney, TX on May 2, 2024. The live viewing of student art will be followed by the presentation of awards.
