The Melissa Middle School Band had a special guest, John Mackey, join the Wind Ensemble Varsity Band for a rehearsal on Thursday, March 23, 2024. Mackey is the composer of a music piece called "Undertow," which the MMS Wind Ensemble Varsity Band will be performing at their upcoming UIL Contest. Mackey worked directly with the students, offering valuable insights and guidance to enhance their performance of the music. Following the rehearsal, MMS Band students had the opportunity to ask Mackey questions during a Q&A session, where they gained insight into being a composer and the piece itself.
