Students who are interested in participating in the Melissa Middle School cheerleading and mascot program for the 2021-2022 school year are required to attend an upcoming mandatory informational meeting with a parent or guardian. The program is open to students entering 7th or 8th grade next year. MMS cheerleaders and mascots help positively represent the school during games and at community events.

There are four meeting dates to choose from, including Jan. 25, Jan. 26, Feb. 1, and Feb. 2, 2021, scheduled from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the middle school cafeteria.  Face coverings and social distancing are required. A parent or guardian must attend the meeting with their student in order for the student to be eligible for tryouts.

Tryout information and other important dates will be shared at the meeting. Questions can be directed to MMS Cheerleading Coach, Catherine McKoy, at catherinemckoy@melissaisd.org.
